Raiders’ Maxx Crosby to undergo season-ending ankle surgery

Las Vegas Invaders star Maxx Crosby he needs season-ending arthroscopic ankle surgery, he announced in an Instagram post Saturday.

Crosby initially suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 Baltimorehe later missed only one match. He said he made the situation “even more” last weekend against Tampa Bayleading to the need for surgery.

“Some will say I should just rest and prepare for next year, I will never be that person,” he wrote. “I have a team around me that has allowed me to come back and continue to disrupt the peace even though I haven’t really been fully healthy all year. I will be on fire no matter what because this match is my life. If my heart beats, I expect to play for fans who spend their hard-earned money to watch me play and wear my jersey every Sunday. I do it because it means everything to me and I will never change my approach to this game.

Sources tell ESPN that Crosby will meet with Dr. Rob Anderson on Monday and undergo arthroscopic surgery, which will determine whether a second surgery is necessary and the extent of the damage to the ankle. Doctors believe the extent of the injuries may be more serious than first thought.

The Raiders (2-11) have already been eliminated from the postseason, and Crosby will begin rehab with an eye on the 2025 season. The question will be whether for the Raiders.

Many teams inquired about Crosby from Las Vegas before or during the NFL trade deadline in November. The Raiders have refused to show interest in any team and owner Mark Davis even told ESPN: “We are not trading Maxx Crosby. Before or after the exchange date!!!”

However, that won’t stop other teams from turning to the Raiders again this offseason as they try to rebuild their roster around whichever quarterback they choose for the 2025 season.

Crosby will turn 28 in August and is entering the prime of his career, which will be attractive to other teams – or Las Vegas if they keep him.
