Chairman Shi only gave his support to the manager on Thursday, amid rumors linking the club with several managers, including former Chelsea boss Graham Potter.
O’Neil had to defend his position after the defeat to West Ham and asked similar questions during his post-match press conference on Saturday evening.
“I am not interested in my own position. I know the job I do every day and I know the situation we are in.” he said
“I know it took a lot of work to get this group to perform so well. People can point fingers at me, but some people responsibly need to focus on the players.
“I feel comfortable with myself as a coach, with my standards and what I expect from the group. I also accept this difficult moment.
“That group down there needs me this week to help them get to a place where they’re ready to go. I will fight for them and with them until they tell me not to.
“That doesn’t mean I don’t think I’ll get fired. For everyone [poor] As a result, the chance that I will lose my job increases. This doesn’t concern me, this situation makes me want to do better.”
Ipswich coach Kieran McKenna, whose side were three points clear of Wolves, said he wanted to take advantage of O’Neil’s situation and growing unrest at Molineux.

“There’s always something going on in away games. If a team isn’t doing as well as they would like, you know that if you start well and score the first goal, the atmosphere can work against the hosts. We did it really well. “
