Lauren Price: ‘I want to bring big-time boxing back to Wales’

Price has already fought once in Wales, when she defeated Jessica McCaskill in May 2024 to become world champion for the first time.

While her next fight with Jonas may take place outside Wales, fighter Ystrad Mynach has made it clear she wants to face her fellow British fighter next.

“For the British fans, I would love to fight Tash (Natasha Jonas),” Price continued.

“It’s a hell of a fight for the British fans and boxing in general.

“In this professional game, you decide. If you’re a world champion and you have titles, you should fight anyone.

“I have a few years ahead of me, but next year I want to chase belts. I want to be the undisputed world champion.”

Speaking to BBC Radio 5Live after Jonas’ victory on Saturday night, Price was quick to offer her predictions for the proposed fight.

“I’m in great shape, she’s coming to the end of her career,” Price said.

“I respect that, but I believe I will win this fight.

“If it were up to me, we would be fighting here today.

“But she is [Jonas] I don’t want a fight, I understand that.”
