Mumbai defeated Madhya Pradesh by five wickets in the final to win their second Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title on Sunday.
The Shreyas Iyer-led team scored 175 runs with over two overs remaining to record their second win in three years after the 2022 campaign.
Mumbai is now the fourth team to win the SMAT title twice; Tamil Nadu has won the tournament thrice.
This was Mumbai’s second SMAT final and they won both matches; Madhya Pradesh lost its second final after achieving a decisive result after 14 years.
