Wolves they fired manager Gary O’Neil at his last gasp 2-1 failure with City of Ipswich In First league on Saturday.
This marked the fourth league defeat in a row, after a Lost 4-2 to Bournemouth, devastating Lost 4-0 against Everton ia 2-1 loss at West Ham.
Wolves are 19th in the Premier League table, four points ahead of Southampton, although the south coast side still have a game in hand.
In August, O’Neil extended his contract by four years after leading the club to 14th place with 46 points in the 2023/24 season. However, since this extension, his side have struggled defensively, conceding a league-worst 40 goals after 16 games.
“We are very grateful to Gary for all his effort, dedication and hard work during his time at the club and we wish him and his team all the best for the future.” Wolves president Jeff Shi said in a statement: club statement.
O’Neil, the former West Ham defender, becomes the third Premier League head coach to be sacked this season after Manchester United fired Erik ten Hag i City of Leicester fired Steve Cooper.
Wolves’ next match will be away Leicester December 22, in difficult matches against Man United and Tottenham later this month.
