Tadhg Furlong has extended his contract with Ireland and Leinster for two years until the end of the 2026–27 season.
The 32-year-old, who made his Ireland debut against Wales in 2015, has made 78 Test appearances and won three Six Nations titles.
Furlong played for the British and Irish Lions Test teams in 2017 and 2021 and won four Pro12/Pro14 titles and a European Champions Cup with Leinster.
The extension means Furlong will be under contract with Ireland’s RFU until the summer, when Ireland will start preparing for the next World Cup in 2027, when he will be 35.
“Getting the chance to continue my Irish football career in my home province is a dream come true,” Furlong said.
“I am delighted to extend my long association with both Leinster Rugby and the IRFU for the coming seasons.
“From the beginning of my career, I have strived to make a positive contribution to creating a winning environment and I believe that good times will lie ahead for the club and the country.”
Furlong made his senior debut for Leinster in November 2013 and has played 149 times for the province.
“Tadhg is a world-class tough guy whose influence outweighs his ability on the pitch,” said David Humphreys, IRFU performance director.
“Since breaking into the Leinster and Ireland set-up, he has set new standards as a prop and his hunger to improve and perform at a consistently high level has set him apart.”
