Michigan RB Donovan Edwards opts out of ReliaQuest Bowl against Alabama

Michigan running back Donovan Edwards told reporters on Sunday that he will not play in the ReliaQuest Bowl against No. 11 Alabama on Dec. 31 to focus on preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Edwards has 589 rushing yards and four touchdowns for the defending national champions Wolverines (7-5) this season.

Edwards finishes his college career with 2,251 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns, along with 86 receptions for 797 yards and four scores.

Michigan also won’t have potential first-round defensive picks Mason Grahamguard Will Johnson and tight end Colston Loveland against the Crimson Tide.

The Michigan-Alabama game is scheduled to start at noon ET at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
