It’s been a good season so far for Daniel Farke’s side, but the January transfer window is an opportunity for clubs like Leeds to strengthen their squad in the second half of the season. It could be a busy month for the Yorkshire outfit and one of the players they are keeping an eye on is Aston Villa’s Louis Barry.
The striker, who can play anywhere across the front line, has caught the attention of the Whites after impressing on loan at Stockport. Barry has been at Villa Park since 2020 but has only played one official game for the club as he has spent most of his time on loan across England.
Barry is currently the league’s top goalscorer and Villa are likely to recall him in January before sending him to a higher-level club, with Leeds joining many other Championship sides keen to sign him for the remainder of the campaign . 2024/25 season.
But the Whites could face a battle as Middlesbrough are said to be leading the race to sign Barry, ahead of other interested sides such as Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday.
Challinor admits Barry could move in January
