Rodrigo Bentancur: Tottenham midfielder loses appeal over ban

Tottenham Hotspur’s Rodrigo Bentancur will serve the final two games of a seven-game suspension after the Football Association rejected his appeal.

The Uruguay midfielder received the award ban in November for using a racist slur about teammate Son Heung-min on television.

Spurs accepted the decision, but he challenged the severity suspension.

However, the appeal was dismissed after the hearing and Bentancur will miss the matches against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup and Liverpool in the Premier League.

The former Juventus midfielder was able to play in the Europa League after his suspension, as it only applies to domestic competitions.
