Wolves star Matheus Cunha has been charged by the Football Association for misconduct following his side’s Premier League defeat to Ipswich Town.
Cunha was Wolves’ best player this season, but failed to lead the team out of the relegation zone.
They were disappointed in Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Ipswich Town 19th in the Premier League standings 9 points from the first 16 games.
There were some unpleasant scenes after the final whistle at Molineux, with defender Rayan Ait Nouri receiving a red card after losing his head.
Cunha also got into a scuffle with an Ipswich staff member. Video circulating on social media showed the Brazilian hitting a man with his elbow and snatching his glasses from his face. Yes, unpleasant, but the latter video is pretty funny until you realize he almost scratched the guy’s face.
However, Cunha will not laugh after the FA confirmed he had been accused of misconduct.

A statement read: “Matthew Cunha has been charged with inappropriate conduct following Wolves’ Premier League match against Ipswich Town on Saturday 14 December.
The striker allegedly behaved inappropriately after the final whistle. He has until Thursday, December 19, to respond.
The Wolves talisman now faces a possible long-term ban and it’s hard to imagine their form improving without him.
Wolves are currently without a head coach after sacking Gary O’Neill on Sunday.
Defeats to fellow struggling West Ham United and Ipswich made his sacking inevitable.
O’Neill signed a new contract with Molineux in the summer, but the club’s run into the 2024/25 season has been poor.
According to reports, Portuguese coach Vito Pereira, currently playing for Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabaab, is the favorite to succeed O’Neill.
Journalist David Ornstein reported on Sunday that Wolves were working on a deal to appoint Pereira, who had emerged as a candidate to become Everton manager in January 2022 but was forced to leave the club after fan protests. The club’s board appointed Frank Lampard.
Wolves’ greatest success in the Premier League came under the leadership of another Portuguese, Nuno Espiritu Santo, and most of their best players are from Portugal, including Diogo Jo Tower, Ruben Neves and Pedro Neto.
However, without Cunha, O’Neal’s replacement could join the club at the worst possible time.
