German journalist Florian Plettenberg claims Liverpool are “impressed” with Frimpong but they are currently opposed to signing him because he doesn’t fit into Arne Slott’s system.

Plettenberg said: “Liverpool have been impressed with Jeremy #Frimpong’s development and performances at Bayer Leverkusen 04.

“However, the 24-year-old right-back is not currently a specific transfer target in the summer, mainly because Arne Slott prefers to use a traditional right-back in a back four and Frimpong’s role is currently unsuitable. #LFC’s system.”
