Postkoglu’s squad is already stretched thin due to injury issues, so the Australian is in dire need of his usual fringe players to get the job done, with both Spence and Bergvall helping in reliable fashion.
“They’re great,” explain Postkoglu on Bergvall and Spence.
“Lucas is always growing but he’s only 18. Archie is 18 too and how many Premier League clubs are going to start two 18-year-olds in the squad. Jed has had to bide his time. To be fair, it’s It’s one area of the pitch where we’ve got Archie at right back this year, so he’s got to be patient.
“The fact that he was able to play today is a testament to him and the coaches who train with him. We definitely needed him, not just to play but to make an impact and he did that. Kudos to his patience and perseverance. Huge rewards.”
Tottenham’s lack of options means Postkoglu looks set to turn to the younger players in the squad for the foreseeable future, and they now have another young talent on their side.
The 18-year-old summer new aid Yang Minhyuk originally planned to join Tottenham in January after loaning to Gangwon Province, but he joined the team one month earlier than originally planned.
The South Korean starlet has 12 goals and five assists in 38 league games for Gangwon Province in 2024, and Postkoglu will now benefit from his arrival, although he will not be available until January 1 Be eligible to participate in the competition.
