On Tuesday, four of the biggest names in golf will compete in The Showdown at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas.
PGA Rory McIlroy AND Scottie Scheffler will play against LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau AND Brooks Koepka in an 18-hole made-for-television event. There have been nine previous editions of these exhibitions, the first of which took place in 2018 Tiger Woods AND Phil Mickelson they competed with each other.
Scheffler begins his career Tuesday after arguably the best year of his career, winning the Masters, the Paris Olympics and the FedEx Cup. In total, he had seven victories on tour last season, the most since Tiger Woods in 2007. This earned him his third consecutive Jack Nicklaus Award for PGA Tour Player of the Year.
DeChambeau also had a strong year, passing McIlroy to win the U.S. Open in June and finish in the top 10 at the Masters and PGA Championship. Koepka’s best finish in majors was 26th at the PGA Championship and U.S. Open.
