The number of young darts players has doubled following the success of the sport’s teenage sensation, Luke Littler.
16-year-old Littler reached the final of the PDC World Championship, which resulted in a huge increase in interest in the game on the Internet, and on Tuesday evening he was named the BBC’s Young Sports Personality of the Year 2024.
Social media influencers have also played their part, with Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) in Wales saying darts has become one of the fastest growing sports for children.
The game’s popularity is expected to continue to grow in the lead up to the 2025 World Cup at Alexandra Palace in London.
