Rory McIlroy puts new driver in-play during Showdown Match

Rory McIlroy claimed victory alongside Scottie Scheffler at Tuesday’s Showdown, defeating rivals Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka at Shadow Creek Golf Club in Las Vegas.

The PGA Tour duo led early and never looked back before finishing on the 16th hole for a drama-free 3&2 victory and securing a $10 million cryptocurrency prize.

Before the match, McIlroy took to social media to tease his new TaylorMade driver, which he then introduced into play during the match on the 18th hole.

New TaylorMade drivers hit the USGA compliance list earlier this month, and while technical details haven’t been released yet, we know the “Qi35” drivers include the Qi35 (Version 1), Qi35 LS (Version 2), Qi35 Max, and Qi35 LS (Left) .

Our members were impressed with McIlroy emerging with a new driver for Tuesday’s showdown, following the addition of one member “He hit it really well!” with another saying: “Rory could use a rock stuck to his bat and drive the ball well. That being said, the new TM driver looks delicious.”
