Jeffrey de Graaf goes to the second round in 2025 PDC World Darts Championships. Score 3-1 against Rashad Sweeting However, it doesn’t tell the whole story because the debutant from the Bahamas was very popular Pally’s ally loyal and more than gave De Graaf a run for his money.
Among other things, the Bahamian took the first set calmly, and then Sweeting even made it to Cole Palmer’s celebration in honor of a fan who wrote him a message after hitting a 180-degree shot while holding the crowd in his hands. However, De Graaf remained calm in this fiery atmosphere, which ultimately confirmed the quality of the Dutch-Swede.

“I feel a huge relief after this match, it was difficult at the beginning,” De Graaf recalled in his match press conference after the match then. “In the first set I had problems with the triple crown and then, even though I was ahead, I also missed the doubles. It was a difficult match, but I’m very happy to win.”
As with most viewers, Sweeting entered the competition as something of an unknown quantity to De Graaf, which made preparations for the match somewhat more difficult. On stage, however, the great atmosphere Sweeting helped create actually benefited De Graaf. “It was nice. It didn’t bother me too much, but yes, it was extremely loud this time,” he admitted. “But yes, it was nice to meet Rashad from the Bahamas.”
Last year, De Graaf reached the third round of the PDC World Darts Championship before losing to Rob Cross 4-2. To secure a comeback after the holidays in December, he now must defeat the two-time world champion Gary Anderson – one of the favorites to win the coveted Sid Waddell trophy.
“I feel like there’s a chance if I play my best game, but yeah, it’s Gary Anderson. If he performs with such an absurd average as the one he has achieved over the last 12 months, I will have difficulties – he announces. I’ll just try to stay with him and then take a chance.”
