SA vs PAK: Injured Keshav Maharaj to miss rest of Pakistan ODI series

South Africa will be without Keshav Maharaj for the remainder of the ODI series against Pakistan after the left-arm batsman suffered a left adductor strain.

As the team confirmed in a social media post, Maharaj will head to Durban for rehabilitation and will be reassessed ahead of the first Test against Pakistan.

South Africa also added that Bjorn Fortuin has been replaced for the last two ODIs against Pakistan.

The Proteas are losing the three-match series to Pakistan after a nervy three-wicket defeat in the first match in Paarl earlier in the week.

Maharaj was injured while warming up for the first ODI, but was selected in the Test squad for the Pakistan series after the incident.

The 34-year-old spinner has been a regular feature for South Africa across all formats. He recently featured in his team’s winning Test match against Sri Lanka at Gqeberha, taking seven wickets
