The 27-year-old was left out of the squad entirely for Sunday’s Manchester derby against crosstown rivals City and gave a bombshell interview on Tuesday that hinted at his intention to one day leave Old Trafford.
But while some are suggesting that a move as soon as January could help Rashford regain his dazzling form, Sutton was keen to stress that there are inspirations closer to home who can help him regain his confidence on the pitch.
Pandit and It’s All Kicking Off! The co-host insisted the player was ‘admirable’ for ‘knocking down’ as he went through a tough time before coming out the other end as a valuable player at Old Trafford.
Sutton’s co-host Ian Ladyman agreed that he would ‘love’ to see him back at his best with the team he has played with for the past two decades.
