During his short spell at United, Van Nistelrooy believes ten Rauweiler played a key role in helping Andre Onana produce ‘the best form of his life’.
Earlier this month, Ten Ruweiler links back up with Van Nistelrooy at Leicester City Since then he has been appointed as Fox’s assistant manager and goalkeeping coach.
Ten Ruweiler is now tasked with developing Leicester’s first-choice goalkeeper Mads Hermansen and Van Nistelrooy believes his assistant has already shown his skills in his work with Onana at United earlier this season.
‘Overall he is having a very good season. He saves a lot, we are trying to reduce that amount. Mads all around. He’s a good shot-stopper, a good footballer,’ said Van Nistelrooy.
‘He [Ten Rouwelaar] Will definitely make Mads better. He has worked with young talented goalkeepers and developed them to the highest level. [Bart] Verbruggen is certainly one, with whom he worked at Anderlecht.
‘He worked with Onana at United and I think he was in the best form of his life in the months he worked with Gel.
“He is a great addition to the team. He’s not just improving and playing goalkeepers, but to make the players around the keeper better.
‘Obviously, everyone has to be involved in the game from the back and he’s been fantastic throughout the process.’
