Darts fans heard a familiar tune Thursday afternoon Romeo the Hunchback started his adventure with the World Darts Championships. The Croatian darter chose Eye of the Tiger by Survivor as his song.
The song Eye of the Tiger has been inextricably linked with Darter Raymond van Barneveld for many years. The hit song by Survivor was used as the title song for the movie Rocky III, a film series of which “Barney” is a huge fan.
The match between Grbavac and his opponent Callan Rydz was also scheduled to take place at Van Barneveld’s home. “Erm,” he posted in a slightly surprised post on the social networking site X, along with an eye and a tiger emoticon.
