Bitesize Prediction: Hull City vs Swansea City – 21/12/24

Competition: Championship

market: Both teams scored

Odds: 8/11 @ BetUS

Swansea travel to the MKM Stadium when they take on Hull, hoping to get back to winning ways immediately on Saturday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, having officially appointed Ruben Sales earlier in the month, the former Reading boss really has a job to do in Yorkshire. After losing 2-1 at Coventry last weekend, the Tigers find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap and are desperate for some sort of boost. However, signing off November with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough, Hull have collected just one point from any of their previous eight consecutive Championship games. With that extended crisis returning to a 1-1 stalemate against Hull on November 2, Saturday’s hosts have also failed to secure a single win from any of their last 13 showdowns against second-tier opposition. Likewise, having failed to keep a single clean sheet against the Boars since the end of August, Sale’s side went into Saturday’s showdown sitting bottom of the Championship table. It should also be noted that the Tigers have seen four of their last six matches at the MKM Stadium with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, after suffering a dramatic late collapse at home to Sunderland last weekend as they eventually lost 3-2, Swansea will be looking for an immediate response here. Luke Williams’ side are desperate to make up some ground in the play-off chase, having won 2-1 away to Plymouth earlier in the month. Having suffered just one single defeat in their previous five Championship appearances, Saturday’s visitors will also be buoyed by their continued success away from the Liberty. Swansea have lost just one of their last six showdowns away from South Wales, including a 2-1 win over Derby last month – a run that dates back to October 19. However, continuing on from last season, Williams’ men have recorded just one clean sheet on their travels since mid-April. It should also be highlighted, the Swans have seen four of their last five Championship contests away from the Liberty finish with both teams finding the net.
