Gian Pieri Gasperini says Serie A leaders Atalanta are full of momentum and enthusiasm ahead of hosting Empoli on Sunday.
La De are two points clear of Napoli at the summit after 16 matches and, after last weekend’s win over Cagliari, on a club-record run of 10 consecutive league wins.
Gasperini’s side built on that momentum in midweek with a 6-1 thrashing of Serie B side Cesena in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia.
And, with 10th-placed Empoli at the Gewis Stadium, the Atalanta boss has welcomed spirits into the camp.
“We brought great speed and enthusiasm, all games in Serie A are difficult,” Gasperini said.
We have a good moment. My players are enjoying themselves, and they are good together.
“We have a great spirit, as well as confidence and enthusiasm. The fans are amazing. We are going through very positive times.”
