Ajax may find their next great academy graduate.
A member of the club’s youth team has given up on the current crop of stars ahead of their latest match on Thursday night.
The Eredivisie side hosted Telstar at the Johan Cruyff Arena in the Dutch Cup.
Before kick-off, a child named Zinedine Chiat entered the field to kick-up in front of the crowd.
The youngster completed 2424 consecutive kick-ups, almost delaying the start of the match.
His display of control and skill was so impressive, the first team players took a break from their practice.
Among those looking on in amazement were former Premier League strikers Chuba Akpam And Wout Weghorst.
Chaiat’s performance finally ended, with the child receiving a standing ovation from the crowd.
Members of the coaching staff also congratulated him as he crossed the dugout.
Fans on social media were equally surprised by what they saw.
Reacting to Chaiat’s footage, one fan commented: “Loved every bit of it.”
Another fan also wrote: “Man of the match. The only one.”
The display inspired the Dutch giants in their cup clash against second-tier opponents.
Goals from Akpom and Daniel Rugani Francesco Farioli’s side secured a 2-0 win.
Ajax are now through to the last 16 of this season’s Dutch Cup.
Meanwhile, they are currently second in the league table, six points behind leaders PSV.
