Robert Owen he achieved an average of 99 and 40% in the outside ring in an exceptionally polished display, beating Gabriel Clemens and, in his words, 97.5% earned him a Tour Card for next season. After being replaced at the last minute due to Dom Taylor’s doping ban, he made the most of every opportunity on the pitch PDC World Darts Championships.
Now it’s about building and he passed on the message to Dave Chisnall or Ricky Evans, who are waiting for the next game, with both not firing at full speed like Owen, who now returns after Christmas full of confidence, and with family.

“I’m proud that I played well back then, but I still think there’s still a lot to do. I thought I had control of this game from the start. Gabriel (Clemens) played well, not taking anything away from him, I just felt like I was counteracting everything he did, other than him hitting 149 or 143, I just literally laughed it off and moved on,” Owen said after the match.
“I’m 97.5% sure I’ll keep the Tour Card. Nothing is certain. Maybe I’ll win my next match now. I lost a bit more on the European Tour, which is something to be proud of.”
“You can only beat what’s in front of you, but they’ll know I’m serious and they’ll have to play really well so they might not beat me.”
“After Christmas, I will have a wife and children here. What other support do I need? Just to look at them and say this is for you, I’m not doing it for me. I do this for my family and their well-being, to make sure we are financially secure. I do this to provide my family with a good life. In a sense, we are already on the right track.
“I have been to Q-School three times and won my Tour Card three times. I won my Tour Card on the Challenge Tour, not many people have done that. I don’t think there’s anyone as often as me. I made it. This shows that I am mentally strong for greater heights, which I hope I will achieve.
“Whatever happened to Dom is not in my control. I came here with a winning mentality. The £500 ProTour loss was gone. I just want to take a chance. I think I’ve been leading in what I do so far.”
