Paolo Nebrida dedicates shock Ross Smith win to Sandro Eric Sosing after sudden withdrawal

Paolo Nebrida caused a seismic shock in 2025 PDC World Darts Championships and for a time it was his biggest victory in the tournament if he was eliminated Ross Smith.

Although he was soon taken over by Jeffrey de Graaf and defeated Gary Anderson, who he now faces, a big opportunity awaits the player known as “Pow”. He spoke after the match and dedicated it to his compatriot Sandro by Eric Sosinga who fell ill before he could get on stage to face Ian White.

He is in hospital and Nebrida said he would visit him when he spent Christmas in London thousands of miles away from his family. He has a great chance, but at the same time everything depends on his compatriot.

“I hope he’s okay, this one’s for you. I’ll visit him. He is my friend, we come here and I have to visit him. It’s emotional when you’re on stage, it’s hard.”

“It’s hard being here and on stage. I’ll stay focused, play darts and that’s it.”

“Winning on stage with Ross Smith, he’s different. He’s a big fish. I’m glad I won this match. You have to think positively.”

“Now I’m spending Christmas in London. This is my first time. I’m happy about it, even though my family is far away. This is my job, this is what I do.”
