AC Milan took a major step this month in beating rivals to sign Marcus Rashford on loan.
Rashford announced last month his desire for a “new challenge” and his desire to leave Old Trafford but due to his £300,000-a-week wages and lack of interest in a move to Saudi Arabia or Turkey , there are few choices.
Talks have reportedly been held with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, while Negotiations with Milan are said to be more advanced.
A report on Thursday revealed West Ham have also been asked to “keep updated on Rashford’s situation” after Graham Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui as manager, “but understand he is more likely to join a top team in Europe”.
A sticking point for Milan may be their unwillingness to pay more than half of Rashford’s £300,000-a-week wages, although that will be an issue no matter which club approaches United this month and the Red Devils may have to accept that they will need subsidies move.
Regardless, reports in Italy claim Milan have pushed for the exit of Noah Okafor – who is set to join RB Leipzig on loan – “so that they can go all-out to bring in Rashford”.
On Okafor’s loan move, Fabrizio Romano writes on Terms agreed upon.”
“Leipzig loan to cover wages, option to buy clause not mandatory – approximately €25/28m based on several factors.” Travel and medical arrangements for tomorrow. “
In allowing the left winger to leave, they made a place for Rashford in the team, with the Milan boss telling Rashford “you will be the main man and we will build the team around you”, according to Sky Sports.

Former Roma star Antonio Cassano says he is “crazy” for Rashford, who would be a “terrific” signing for any Serie A club.
“We’re talking about a great player; I’m crazy about him,” he said, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
“A year and a half ago, not three or five years ago, he scored 28 goals as an attacking winger.
“But something has broken down at Manchester United, first with Ten Hag and especially with Amorim.
“The problem is that he earns 12 million euros per season. Who can afford him in Italy? No one can.
“He would be great for Milan and Juventus, but I don’t think he can join our league.”
