On Saturday, Adam Lipscombe emerged victorious and was crowned the winner of week one of the ADC Global Championship, after defeating Andy Boulton in the final to advance to the grand final the following Sunday.
Lipscombe, who entered the final after winning Group C on Thursday and Friday, started the evening by winning just one of their two group stage matches, first beating Sebastian Bialecki before losing to Darryl Pilgrim.
However, Lipscombe reached the semi-finals, where he faced Bradley Brooks, where he defeated his compatriot 4-1 and secured a place in the final.
In the decider, Lipscombe faced Andy Boulton, who had beaten Darryl Pilgrim in the last four, and it was the Colchester pitcher who dispatched ‘The X-Factor’ 4-1 to claim the inaugural World Weekly Championship crown, also securing a place in the Grand Final next week.
The ADC Global Championship returns on Monday with the start of week two and the start of week one, the first of three days of Group A and the field featuring Marvin Van Velzen, Gary Stone and Adam Mould.

The game will start at 9:30 GMT and will be broadcast live on the Modus YouTube channel or via the websites of various bookmakers around the world.
