Amad Diallo has signed a new contract with Manchester United, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2030.
Sky Sports News reported in September that Manchester United wanted to bind the 22-year-old to new terms, instead of using the 12-month option included in his previous contract.
Amad has emerged as a star at Manchester United under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim after an initially slow start to his career at Old Trafford after joining from Atalanta in 2020.
Amad scored at both the Etihad Stadium and Anfield to highlight his pedigree as United picked up four points on visits to Manchester City and Liverpool in recent weeks, and has now signed a five-and-a-half-year contract to secure his future at the club.
Amad said: “I’m really proud to have signed a new contract. I have already experienced some amazing moments at this club, but there is still a lot ahead of me. I have huge ambitions for football and I want to make history at Manchester United.
“I have learned a lot since coming here four years ago; I am very grateful to the coaches and employees who helped me develop, as well as to the fans who drive me forward every day.
“It has been a difficult season for everyone, but I fully believe that we are on the right path and the future will be truly special. I’m ready to give my all to help the team and make our fans proud again.”
Manchester United technical director Jason Wilcox said: “Everyone is delighted with Amad’s development; his quality on the ball, versatility and determination make him a key part of Manchester United’s future.
“The best years of his career are ahead of him and we all look forward to helping Amad realize his enormous potential and achieve success with the club in the coming seasons.”
