West Ham are in advanced talks with RB Leipzig over the signing of striker Andre Silva, according to sky is germany.
The deal under negotiation is for a loan until the end of the season, which will include an option to buy.
The discussion was described as ongoing and constructive.
Portugal international Silva has made 53 international appearances for his country with 19 goals.
Silva, who started his senior career at Porto, has previously played for AC Milan, Sevilla and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Ajax’s Brian Brob is also of interest to West Ham as they look for a new striker.

Aston Villa have rejected a bid from West Ham for striker John Duran.
It is understood the bid was worth £57m – however, other sources insist the figure is not correct Villa do not want to sell and it is understood they value Duran in excess of £70million.
West Ham have a long-standing interest in Duran – who recently extended his contract until 2030 – and new West Ham boss Graham Potter is known to be a big fan.
The Hammers tried to sign Duran in the summer but failed to meet Villa’s valuation. Duran has since signed a new contract which will keep him at Villa until 2030. Strikers are a priority position for West Ham this window.
The 21-year-old has scored seven Premier League goals in 19 appearances this season, using Ollie Watkins as Unai Emery’s preferred forward.
He moved to Villa Park from MLS side Chicago Fire in January 2023 but only seven of his 54 league appearances have come as a starter.
