Ryan Joycethe last purple patch on the big stage will continue in 2025 PDC World Darts Championships. “Relentless” bounced back from defeat Danny Noppert 3-1 and book your place in the post-Christmas third round at the stadium Alexandra Palace.
For Noppert, this was “The Freeze’s” seventh appearance in the competition Pally’s allybut this means another disappointment for the Dutchman in London. In his six previous starts, Noppert never made it to the last sixteen, which is indeed a strange statistic for a player who has been in the top sixteen of the world rankings for years.

The first set was won by the darter against Joure. Noppert was broken in the first game, but broke in the second game with a 15-darter. Thanks to a 16-darter and a 13-darter, the set ended 3-1 for the Dutchman.
Noppert then took a break of his own in the second set, but immediately surrendered his own leg. Then both players stayed on their feet, after four games the score was 2-2. The important fifth stage has begun. Noppert was the first to prepare for the set, but missed two set pieces. Joyce then punished those misses by hitting 70.
The third set started with three breaks in a row, two of which went to Joyce. The Englishman scored 124 and increased the score to 2-1. Noppert then left Joyce with 56 points, adding 180, but “Relentless” showed tenacity, firing 12 darts to take a 2-1 lead in sets.
Noppert appeared to be on track to take the deciding set. The score of 51 and 20 shots gave him a 2-0 lead in the fourth set. Joyce then connected with a checkout for 68 and then secured the rebreak with a 13-darter. Joyce needed just one more leg to win and the 13-darter English darter took the spoils.
