Indian pace leader Jasprit Bumrah took another five wickets on day two of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia in Brisbane on Sunday.
The 31-year-old scored his fourth fifth Test in Australia, equaling Anil Kumble. Only Kapil Dev has taken more five wickets for Indians Down Under.
The pacer struck early on the second day, removing both Australian openers early after rain reduced the contest on day one to just 13.2 overs.
Australia responded with a powerful display between centurions Steve Smith and Travis Head, who took full advantage of favorable conditions to put the hosts in a commanding position.
After returning to the attack with the new ball in the 80th minute, Bumrah managed to knock out Smith, who went for a strong drive, and Rohit Sharma made a diving catch at slip.
Mitchell Marsh was kept in the field for just 16 balls after his defensive nudge only resulted in Virat Kohli gaining the lead at slip with ease. Hit the header just after crossing the 150-run mark and take one away from wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.
A flurry of wickets late on allowed India to get back into the game after a largely demoralizing ball game all afternoon.
