I-League 2024-25: De scores winner and gets red card as Namdhari beats Real Kashmir 1-0

Title challenger Real Kashmir FC’s first away match of the 2024-25 I-League season ended in disappointment as host team Namdhari FC scored a solitary goal at the Namdhari Stadium on Sunday.

After winning for the second time in a row, Namdhari has seven points after the fifth round, and Kashmir has eight points. The Srinagar men suffered their first defeat. Namdhari has now moved to fifth place in the table and is hot on the heels of Kashmir, who are currently in fourth place.

Initially, Namdhari showed sufficient attacking prowess, opening the Kashmir defense at least four times. From one such move in the 15th minute, Cledson Dasilva Degol, also known as WITH, he sent in a low and angular header after starting to move from the left. This is the Brazilian’s fourth goal of the season.

The talented player’s day did not end happily, however, as he was given his marching orders in the 60th minute for a serious foul in the middle of the pitch from behind.

While De’s departure reduced the hosts’ squad to 10 players, Kashmir failed to capitalize on this despite having complete control of the match. Namdhari lived a charmed life, surviving countless close encounters, but returned home with full points after a 97-minute battle.
