Real Madrid’s Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior won the Best FIFA Men’s Player award on Tuesday, while Barcelona’s Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmati won the Best FIFA Women’s Player award at the Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday.
Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho received the Puskas Award for his header against Everton in the Premier League last year, while Brazil’s Marta won the first-ever ‘Marta’ award for his goal against Jamaica in this year’s friendly.
Many of the winners of the 2024 edition, such as Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and British coach Emma Hayes, won awards in their respective categories for the second time in their careers.
Of all the winners, only Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti and Vinicius were present to receive their awards in person.
