After the draw in the rain-affected match, Rohit said: “As a team, we don’t give up that easily. We keep fighting. When we came to bowl in the second innings, we came with the intensity of watching them (Australia) on the field for 60, 70 runs.
The Mumbaikar didn’t flinch, holding a mirror to himself and said, “I didn’t bat well and there’s nothing wrong with accepting that. Sometimes these numbers can tell you that it’s been a while since I’ve done a big race, but for a person like me, what matters is how I feel and how I prepare.”

Praising Ravindra Jadeja, Rohit said, “He was disappointed with his bowling, but it can happen. It’s not easy not to play and then suddenly start playing. He showed his worth with the bat. We needed someone to come together and take the game as deep as possible, Jadeja was there to do that.
Asked about the mini-celebrations in the Indian dressing room after Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep helped avoid further events, Rohit replied: “It was a small victory for us.
