FIFA world champion Argentina finished 2024 in first place among the men’s team in the FIFA rankings for the second year in a row.
There have been only limited changes to the rankings released on Thursday, with just 21 international matches played since the previous rankings were published in November.
Argentina finished the year in first place, ahead of France, while Spain, the European champions, finished on the podium.
The rest of the top ten remained unchanged: in order, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Germany.
FIFA said Angola, which has played the most matches in 2024, has made the most progress over the past 12 months, rising 32 places to reach 85th place.
The next rankings will be published in April.
