Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 club Punjab FC has announced the signing of Greek striker Petros Giakoumakis for the remainder of the season.
Giakoumakis most recently played for Greek second league club Makedonikos. The striker signed a six-month contract valid until May.
32-year-old Giakoumakis was born in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, and came from the youth ranks of the local team Olympiakos Chersonissos.

He started his professional career with the Greek Super Division club PO Atsaleniou in 2011, where he spent three seasons. He signed with APO Levadiakos in the 2014 season and made 117 appearances for the club over five seasons. The striker spent his entire career in Greece, except for a season on loan at Cypriot club Olympiakos Nicosia.
Speaking about the signing, Punjab FC Technical Director Nikolaos Topoliatis said: “Petros fits the profile of the striker we were looking for for the remainder of the season. He is an experienced activist and I hope he will bring quality to the pitch. I wish the player all the best for the season and hope he brings success to the club.”
Punjab FC is currently placed eighth in the ISL table with 18 points and will face NorthEast United tomorrow in Guwahati in their next ISL 2024-25 match.
