Douglas Tardin scores a hat-trick as Lajong defeats SC Bengaluru
On Monday, January 13, 2025, Shillong Lajong FC once again broke out in riots at the SSA Stadium as they defeated Sporting Club Bengaluru 5-0 in the I-League 2024-25.
The hosts led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Daniel Gonçalves and Figo Syndai, before Douglas Tardin scored the fastest hat-trick of the season within 15 minutes to end the defeat for José Hevia’s side.
It wasn’t the eight-goal defeat that Lajong handed Rajasthan United last month, but it was still a complete humiliation for newly promoted SC Bengaluru, who are still bottom of the table with just five points in eight games. Shillong Lajong’s third win of the season and fourth consecutive clean sheet at home moved them to fourth place with 12 points.
Ten-man Namdhari stuns Inter Kashi
Namdhari FC moved to second place in the competition after beating Inter Kashi 2-0 at the Namdhari Stadium in Sri Bhaini Sahib.
The hosts, who played with ten men for almost the entire second half, scored one goal in each quarter thanks to Bhupinder Singh and Francis Addo.
For Namdhari, it was his fourth consecutive clean sheet and second victory in the match after receiving a red card (after a 1-0 victory over Real Kashmir).
Harpreet Singh’s side are currently on 14 points with Kashi’s Inter but have a direct advantage. Inter Kashi’s second defeat of the season meant Churchill Brothers regained top spot in the league with 16 points.
