Mohammedan Sporting pulled off a dramatic draw with two goals in stoppage time to defeat Chennaiyin FC 2-2 in the Indian Super League (ISL) 11 match at the Kishore Bharati Stadium on Wednesday.
Chennaiyin enjoyed a two-goal lead at the end of regular time after Pachuau Laldinpuia and Lukas Brambilla scored once in each half.
Mohammedan Sporting made a spectacular conversion in the nine minutes of added time when substitute Manvir Singh Saini reduced the lead in the fifth minute (90+5). Lalarremsanga Fanai equalized with a penalty awarded in the last minute of stoppage time. Manvir Singh was tripped in the penalty area by Laldinpuia, who was given his marching orders after the incident.
Chennaiyin FC remained 10th in the current table with 17 points from 16 games, while Mohammedan Sporting also saw no improvement in their position after the draw, finishing 12th with 11 points from 16 games.

Marina Machans quickly took control of the match and secured the advantage with a goal in the 10th minute when Pachuau Laldinpuia headed in from close range after Connor Shields had taken a corner kick just inside the box from six yards.
Mohammedan Sporting had a chance to equalize in the 27th minute when he scored the first penalty, but Mirjalol Kasimov’s penalty kick was saved by Mohammad Nawaz. Chennaiyin doubled their lead early in the second half with a goal from Brazilian midfielder Brambilla, but ultimately failed to secure victory.

After wasting several good scoring opportunities in regular time, Mohammedan Sporting found the net as the fans in the stands seemed certain that the team would suffer another home defeat.
Manvir Singh got a brilliant try to brighten the hopes and then scored the second goal. Lalarremsanga made no mistake right away and restored balance to the team that had caused one of the biggest upsets of the tournament four days ago by beating Bengaluru FC at home (1-0).
