Galatasaray was signed by AC Milan Alvaro Morata striker loan from the Italian club between February 2025 to January 2026 for EUR 6 million (USD 6.14 million), the Turkish club Super Lig and Milan AC said on Sunday.
Galatasaray has retained the option to conclude a permanent transaction, said AC Milan in a statement on his official website.
Galatasaray said that Morata would receive a guaranteed salary of EUR 3 million for the second half of the 2024-25 season and an additional EUR 3 million in the first half of the 2025-26 campaign.
32-year-old captain of the Spanish national team, Morata joined Milan with La Liga Club Atletico Madrid last year for 13 million euros on a four-year contract.
Details of the Morata Galatasaray agreement
Galatasaray has a purchase option, which allows her to permanently sign Morata for 8 million euros if she notifies Milan in writing until January 15, 2026, in accordance with Galatasaray’s statement.
If the Turkish club decides not to activate the purchase option by that day, he will have the right to extend the loan period by June 30, 2026. If the loan is extended, Morata will receive another EUR 3 million for the second half of the season 2025-26.
In addition, the club will have a second purchase option, enabling them to permanently sign Morarata for 9 million euros, if it provides a written notification by June 10, 2026. This amount will also be paid in six installments.
If Galatasaray performs the option of purchase, Morata will be entitled to guaranteed salaries of EUR 6 million for the season 2026-27 and 6 million euros in the 2027-28 season.
Morata started his career in Real Madrid before he moved to Juventus in 2014. He helped the real league of the Champions, La Liga and Copa del Rey twice and Juventus claim that two Serie A titles also had a spell in the Premier League Club Chelsea.
