Aston Villa and New England Football Club are believed to be interested in signing a Real Madrid player considered to be an ideal candidate for Unai Emery.

Villa failed to make it four consecutive wins in all competitions after losing to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday night.
Despite a stunning second-half save from Emiliano Martinez and Jon Duran’s opener, two late goals were enough to take Forest’s three points.
Emery After failing he said: “It’s disappointing but we’re in a process. We played the game I thought we would. We tried to be dominant and keep possession. They don’t usually press high, man-on-man or even more players. . We did it (the game plan) until the 70th minute.
“After we scored, they changed. They made more attacks, added more players (in attack). At that moment, you have to be consistent in the game plan. Our tactical philosophy was not strong , we started conceding goals, conceding corner kicks, and then we conceded two goals, but VAR disallowed the goals.

Behind-the-scenes attention is likely to be focused on the January transfer window at Villa Park, with a number of names linked with a move to the Midlands, including Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz.

The 21-year-old has impressed in limited La Liga appearances at the Bernabeu and is seen as an ideal option for Villa and Emery after graduating from Madrid’s academy and playing for the youth teams.
Asensio primarily plays as a centre-back and is worth around €10m, so if he joins forces with Emery it could be alongside the likes of Ezri Konsa, Diego Carlos, Paulo Torres and Tyrone Mings Compete for a spot in the match day squad. NSWE will likely have to beat Forest and Newcastle to seal a deal, so it might be worth keeping an eye on heading into 2025.
