Villa lost 2-1 to Nottingham Forest on Saturday night, ending the team’s three-game winning streak. Unai Emery hopes this is just a bump in the road for his side as they prepare to face Manchester City at the weekend.

According to “Birmingham Live”, Aston Villa lead race to sign Pierce Charles From Sheffield Wednesday. The 19-year-old graduated from Manchester City’s youth academy but left the Premier League side in 2020 and joined the Owls.
Charles has worked his way through the club’s under-18s and under-21s and is now part of the first team. The goalkeeper is yet to feature in the Championship but has been on the bench in all but two league games this season.
Although Charles is not a regular goalkeeper on Wednesday, he has made four appearances for his country Northern Ireland. On the international stage, Charles has impressed scouts, who gave players ” glowing reports ” during recent Nations League games.
The youngster’s attacking ability from the back means top clubs in the Premier League have identified him as a priority target, including Villa. Villa would be willing to move on with second-choice goalkeeper Robin Olsen in favor of emerging talent if given the chance. Villa could offer Charles a second-place spot in the squad and he may see this as his chance to reach the Premier League.
