On Sunday, Stefan Bellmont cruised to victory to claim the third Challenge Tour title of his career after beating Danny Jansen in a decisive moment as the opening weekend of the second-tier PDC Tour concluded in Milton Keynes.
Bellmont, who lost in the Event One final on Friday, went a step further 48 hours later to reach the final first, recording victories over Vinay Ramnath, Tom Parradine, Stefan Dees, Sam Spivey, Tommy Morris, Graham Hall and Aden Kirk to arrange a start with Jansen.
The final began with Bellmont racing to a 4-0 lead, with the winning runs coming on shots of 18, 13, 15, and 14, respectively, before Jansen capped off the run by pinning the shuttle on 15 in the fifth to win the first leg of the tie.
It was the only stage won by the Dutchman in the tournament final as Bellmont sealed victory in the sixth stage with 17 darters to claim the third PDC title of his career and the top prize of £2,500.
The PDC Winmau Challenge Tour returns from 2-4 p.mvol March with events 6-10 taking place in Halle 39, Hildesheim. All live scores and results will be displayed on tv.dartconnect.com.
