The speculation began after the Eagles’ victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Brown, who has recently seen limited involvement in the team’s passing game, expressed concerns to the media, emphasizing the need for improvement and highlighting a lack of in-game communication with Hurts. Despite their close friendship—Hurts is the godfather to Brown’s daughter—questions arose about the state of their relationship.
During his Monday appearance on WIP, Graham weighed in on the matter. “The person that’s complaining needs to be accountable,” Graham commented. “I don’t know the whole story, but I know that 1 [Hurts] is trying and 11 [Brown] could be a little better with how he responds to things. They were friends before this, but things have changed. It’s the business side of things—we have to ensure the personal doesn’t interfere with the professional.”
Graham, currently sidelined for the season with a torn triceps, quickly recognized the sensitivity of his comments. By Monday evening, he told ESPN’s Tim McManus that he had spoken out of turn. “I really just want to win and want my brothers to work things out,” Graham said, adding that he planned to personally apologize to both Hurts and Brown.
On Tuesday morning, Graham revisited the topic on WIP, issuing a more formal apology and clarifying his stance. He expressed regret for discussing team dynamics publicly and emphasized the importance of unity within the team.
“Drama spilling outside the practice facility isn’t ideal,” Graham admitted. “But I’m confident this can be a learning moment for all of us. At the end of the day, our focus remains on what truly matters: winning.”
