Juventus and Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon has urged fans and journalists to stop comparing the achievements of Juve’s two most recent coaches, Thiago Motta and Massimiliano Allegri, claiming Serie A is second only to the Premier League in terms of quality and believes Atalanta’s success is ‘good for everyone’.
Former Azzurri No. 1 at No the interview To La Stampa, published on Tuesday morning, during which he spoke about the success of his former club and the division as a whole.
Buffon: ‘Enough with the Motta and Allegri comparisons’
Juventus though Undefeated in Serie A Under Thiago Motta, Buffon does not enjoy comparisons between him and his predecessor Allegri, as they are two coaches at completely different stages of their careers.
“Enough with the comparison between Motta and Allegri, it’s out of line. One wins a lot, Thiago is just getting started. Anyone who compares them is driven by the desire to upset the club,” Buffon said.
He continued: “I have a lot of respect for Thiago and I’m very confident in what he’s building. When you change things so profoundly, it takes time. Thick fine and well prepared, used to a certain level as a coach.”

Buffon went on to talk about the success of Serie A as a division and why clubs like Atalanta are a model to follow.
“Our football has changed. We are behind after the English Premier League. I remember the cultural revolution of many coaches, now we enjoy watching Serie A matches.
And, in Atlanta, he added: “They are a team that is good for everyone. I am not surprised, because in football you cannot improve if you want to reach a certain level. The Perkasi family has a visionary project that has been going on for quite some time.”
