D Bundesliga Stadiums are set to become the first European top-flight league to judge referees by explaining VAR decisions to spectators over loudspeakers.
The German Football League (DFL) confirmed in a statement that the pilot project will begin this Saturday.
Nine clubs have volunteered to take part in the project, including the Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen and leaders Bayern MunichWith public announcement procedures featured in five matches this weekend, the DFL said Monday.
The DFL added that the scheme aims to bring more transparency to refereeing decisions. The public announcement system was also used in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup earlier this month.
Second-tier side Fortuna Dusseldorf’s home game against SSV Ulm will be the first match on Saturday Germany Bayern, St. Pauli, Leverkusen and home fixtures to feature this weekend ahead of fixtures Eintracht Frankfurt.
Borussia DortmundFreiburg, Arabic Leipzig And Greuther Fuerth is also part of the project.
