Ulster have a long list of injury doubts for Friday’s United Rugby Championship match against Irish rivals Munster at Kingspan Stadium.
Iain Henderson, Cormac Izuchukwu, Nick Timoney, Werner Kok, Nathan Doak and Aidan Morgan were injured during the Investec Champions Cup defeat against Bordeaux on Saturday.
Ulster said on Monday that the six players would be “monitored during weekly training to ensure they are fit to play in Friday’s match”.
Ben Carson and Stewart Moore, who were injured in Ulster’s first Champions Cup match against Toulouse, are “still doubtful” about the inter-provincial clash.
There was good news for Ulster, however, as scrum-half John Cooney was available for selection when full team training resumed.
Munster weekend defeat against Castres also came at a cost, with Craig Casey needing surgery after suffering a meniscus injury.
Thaakir Abrahams dislocated his shoulder and tests will determine whether he requires surgery.
Dian Bleuler was removed after failing a head injury scan and is following return-to-play protocols, while Diarmuid Barron has passed his HIA and will be monitored following a shoulder injury.
Peter O’Mahony is a doubt with a calf injury and Jean Kleyn is being treated by a specialist for a thigh injury.
