Rob Cross won the Dutch Champions with a fight over Stephen Bunting in the final.
Early in the match cross he was in control, racing to a 5-2 lead, but Bunting got back to 5-5 with some very improved darts.
Cross, who had never been to the final, then surged forward – winning the next three legs to claim an 8-5 victory.
It was his fifth World Series Cross title and his first in Europe.
“I think it’s about time I won in the Netherlands,” said Cross, the 2018 world champion. “Huge credit to Stephen, but I’m just grateful I won. It was a great weekend.”
Bunting who won the Bahrain Masters last week, Added: “If you had told me at the beginning of the tournament that I would be disappointed in the final that I didn’t win.”
Earlier on Saturday, world champion Luke Littler, who turned 18 on Tuesday, was knocked out in the semi-finals by Bunting 7-6 despite an average of 107.59.
