The winning Wigan Warriors team were named the BBC’s Sports Personality Team of the Year 2024.
They dominated men’s rugby league throughout the year, winning every major trophy available to them.
Matt Peet’s men achieved a quadruple, winning the World Club Challenge, Challenge Cup, League Leaders Shield and Grand Final titles.
It meant Wigan repeated their 1994 team’s feat 30 years later by winning all the major trophies in one campaign.
Since 2022, Wigan have won seven major trophies under Peet – despite the manager managing fewer than 100 games.
Peet, speaking on BBC One, said: “It’s a great honor to receive this award – Wigan has a history with this trophy.
“The club is in good shape, we have very good contacts and it all starts at the top, under the supervision of Chris, the general manager.
“We want success and we have big ambitions.
“We try to represent the city as best we can and we think how we can help our fans. It is a great honor and privilege to work with these guys.”
