PDC World Darts Championship 2025 results: Callan Rydz hits 107 average in win over Romeo Grbavac

Callan Rydz from England averaged 107.06 and secured a place in the second round of the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship with a 3-0 victory over Croatian Romeo Grbavac.

The 26-year-old’s score was the highest first-round average in the competition’s current 96-player format, beating teenager Luke Littler’s mark of 106.12 last year.

This was the 26th highest match average overall in the tournament and by far the best so far for the 2025 event.

Rydz, from Bedlington, Northumberland, will face German Martin Schindler in the second round on Sunday evening.

Grbavac averaged 97.92 but won only two of a possible 11 runs in the match.

In the opening match of Thursday’s afternoon session, Hong Kong’s Lok Yin Lee stormed back from a set to defeat Chris Landman 3-1 after winning nine straight matches.

On Saturday afternoon, Lee will face Northern Ireland’s Brendan Dolan in the second round.
