Bobsleigh World Cup: British pair win two-man silver in Latvia

Brad Hall and Taylor Lawrence gave Great Britain their first Bobsleigh World Cup podium of the season, taking silver in the second of two two-man races in Sigulda, Latvia.

Hall and Greg Cackett were in second place after the first run, 0.05 seconds behind the experienced German Johannes Lochner and his new brakeman Jorn Wenzel.

Lawrence completed the second run in place of Cackett and the British duo once again ran strongly, posting a combined time of one minute and 39.45 seconds.

But the Germans responded, finishing 0.21 seconds behind the British and giving Lochner his 80th career World Cup podium, with the third German pair, Francesco Friedrich and Alexander Schuller, finishing third.

Hall finished fourth in Saturday’s first race with Greg Cackett.
